I don't usually post unless I want to help someone out, but today was the first day of school and...
1. Construction that has begun since the summer started is still going and will not finish until January, until then, we must squeeze in the hallways, not very fun.
2. All my classes have more people than desks (The school is bursting at the seams, thus the construction)
3. It sounded like two crows were stuck in my house yesterday... creepy
4. Computers crashed, three quarters of the students were missing whole periods on their scedule.
5. I have a locker in the main hallway and is impossible to get to 'cause of the crowding. It's only as wide as the width of my hand!!! (I'm sorry, I'm used to bigger lockers -_-;; )
On the other hand, my teachers seem nice... heh heh -_-
Maybe this should go in the gripe thread, but it's a "First day of school thread" so... um...

Hmm...yep my school has lots of people too...almost 3,000 students. I remember they added another wing to the school, and added even more trailers, but there are more students than they anticipated. The most dangerous part of the school is the main staircases where if you fall down those...ouchies ^^;;
A virus was circulating through our school district causing lots of computer to stop and today all the computers in the library had to be shut down since many were infected with a virus.

Such big schools. o.o Mine's only around 1000. And fortunately, we don't go back for a fortnight.
But why do they always do construction at the start of the year?

i finally have study halls...and since im taking a language this year i have a free period. so my schedual is mixed up..it goes easy hard easy hard....which is good.

I think we're reaching 4,500 people! Gah. Everyone trying to stand out from the other 4,499 students is not a pretty sight.
School starts at 8:05 and ands at 3:25. We get late arrival days though, and it starts on 10:30 on those days.
For us they started construction at the end of last year, it's just taking too long to take everything and build other stuff. Everything smells like paint... and the year before the last, they added a new wing... I think this school has a lot of money I guess...
But I think the most annoying about today was the scedules... "Sorry, I didn't sign up for this class, but my scedule says that I should be here and my counselors busy... so, I'll just sit here..."
Blah.
-_-;;;

Well,
I haven't stared school yet, and I won't be until the 2nd of Septemeber. School always starts the day after labour day here where I live. Last year I went to school with about a max. of 500 students, not that big of a school, but it was okay. School started at 9:00 a.m. and ended at 3:00 p.m. But now I am moving away so I don't really know what time school will start.
Yeah, I am so glad, I finally get to move out of here! Yeah, I am going to be moving to a new city (from a little reserve). I am going to be living with my older sister who is going to be starting college. I am so excited. So, this will be my first year living away from home, I hope it goes well.

I don't really think I'm applicable for this one, since I'm in college now. *heehee, I get to make my own schedule*
Anyway, back in high school, we started at 7:45 am, except for the AP calculus people who had to start at 7:15 am every day (OUCH! No fun there ). School ended at 2:45 pm, but if you were riding the bus you knew it would be 3:00 or later before you got out.
@heartberry: Good luck! I hope you like living with your sister. (Big tip: College kids are cool. You can find lots of people to help with homework and stuff.)
@BlahThing: Sorry about construction woes. Why can't people plan these things better? But the desk complaint doesn't stop at high school. Even in college there seems to be too many students for the number of available seats.

yah my school is kinda small too, we have i think bout 1000 students maybe less. but the school is small too so it seems like there are alot cuz the classroom are always packed.
i used to have to go to school at 6:45 cuz of jazz band. but i quit that cuz we got the bitch teacher from hell
yah and it is good to be a senior..thanks to my study halls i get late in (so instead of 7:45 i go at 9:00) on monday and wednesday and early out (1:15 as opposed to 2:15) on tuesday and friday!
hehe my school is making a feeble attempt at fixing it up. they are putting new tile up infront of the main office. i really dont know why cuz the other tile was perfectly fine. now the floor and walls match even less. every room is a diff color and the lockers are all diff color. the only good thing bout the school are the athletic fields...thank god!...cuz then it would just be too poor.

School starts on the 3rd of September at 11.25 for us, but the regular hours are 8.50 - 3.30, but after Christmas, my year can take free periods outside school.
